Social media is more important than ever for Real Estate Agents in 2021! In today's Q and A, I'm going to discuss why social media is important and how it will help your business. Whether it's Facebook, Instagram or right here on YouTube, social media continues to be a strong driver to deliver the targeted traffic your business needs!

Why Should Real Estate Agents Post On Social Media?

As a real estate agent, why should you be posting on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube? Here's why. The amount of people that go to the social media sites is unbelievable. There's over a billion hours of content watch just on YouTube alone. The average person spends over 2 hours a day just on Facebook.

And Instagram and TikTok alone are growing in leaps and bounds. Our job as marketers, and that's what you really are. You're not just a real estate agent or a coach or a professional or a business owner. Your job is to be a marketer, right? As a marketer, marketing is attraction.

We need to utilize these social channels, and we need to show up where our customers are. That's our job as a marketer. It's to attract business, and it just shows up where our clients and customers are at.

How Much Time Do People Spend On Social Media?

So ask yourself this question. How much time are you spending every single day on social media?

How much time are you on Facebook or YouTube or Instagram or TikTok? How much time are you spending? Well, guess what? So is your consumer your job as an entrepreneur, a local professional, and a business owner is to show up where they're at. They're on social media, everybody is!

And guess what? There is no better way to make a connection with somebody than video. If you're still watching this video, let me ask you a question. Even right now, don't you feel like you know me a little bit better now than you did when I first started creating and recording this video? The answer is absolutely.

Do Social Media Videos Matter?

According to Forbes, 90% of customers say that watching a video helped them in their purchasing decisions. You get a massive amount of more conversions when utilizing video as compared to just text messages. You know that saying that says a picture says a thousand words. Well, a video says millions of words, right?

In my videos you can actually see my personality. You can kind of get to know me. You're developing a relationship with me. You start to realize she knows something about social media and video, and she's actually really, really confident. Right?

Parasocial Relationships From Watching Videos

We're literally developing a relationship when you watch my videos, which means that you're much more likely to convert than if you're just to see a picture of me or read a book. Video helps you convert! Hosting video on social media channels, on Instagram, on Facebook, on TikTok, on all these platforms, helps your audience, your client avatar, to develop a relationship with you. It's actually called a parasocial relationship. Think about television stars, right?

And I'm not saying that I'm a star by any means. But when you watch television and you've got your favorite actors and actresses, don't you cry with them and you laugh with them and you cheer for them. Yes, you do, because you're developing a relationship with them, you feel like you know them, right? If you saw them on the street you'd show your appreciation, right?

That's your job as a marketer, as an entrepreneur, as a business owner, and it doesn't matter what profession that you're in. Attraction Based Lead Generation

How we use the attraction-based theory instead of the chasing-based theory. Many of you are doing this. You're creating ads on social media, and you're saying, download my form, join this thing. Take this class, give me your money, give me your email and contact information. Research shows that people are much more likely to convert convert when they feel safe when they trust you and they've had a relationship with you.

So we've got to do the heavy lifting in the beginning by developing a relationship with people, letting our community, our client avatar, get to know us. When you utilize video content on these social channels, you're allowing people to get to know you, which means that your conversions are going to actually be stronger. Your conversions and you don't just want leads. You want high-quality leads that convert. And when you show up on these social platforms, our job is to get them to stop the scroll. Right?

We Solve Problems!

Our job is to solve problems, to educate, to get them to engage, to help them, to serve, not just sell. When you do this on social media channels because that's where they're showing up. This is how you will start to dominate your industry, but you've got to do it on a consistent basis. I say you've got to commit to consistently producing content correctly, right?

So you can make a connection with your community so you can convert more clients and customers. Connection is very, very important. Consistency is very, very important. And that's how you generate high-quality leads by showing up on these social channels where people are looking and doing it on a consistent basis.

Creating Video Is Hard!

I know, I know creating video content is hard.

What do I say? What do I do? Listen, go to Google, type in the questions that people are more likely to ask. Think about what are the main problems people are having. Be that solution.

Be that go-to trusted resource. That go-to solution. There's tons of stuff that you can talk about in our professions, in our industries, we completely overestimate what people know. We overestimate. We think they know so much.

They don't. They need our help. They need the exact specialized knowledge that you hold. And if you know that you're somebody who cares about people you care about, what you do then be that. Go to trusted resource.

Guess what? If it's not you, it's gonna be somebody else who does not care as much as you do. That's why you're probably watching this video right now because you're trying to improve. You're trying to get better so you can do it.

I know creating video content can be hard, and at first, you're gonna suck and then suck a little bit less. A little bit less in one day. You're gonna be okay at it. Don't worry about the graphics and all that stuff. Just worry about creating engaging content.

Research shows that it isn't the effects and all that stuff. It's important. It's creating engaging content that's actually serving people serve, not sell. Right? Do you want to be known?
