What Is The Best Weekly Schedule For A New Realtor?

Posted on December 16, 2021 by

So you want to know what the best weekly schedule is for a new realtor. Well, I've been in the Real Estate industry for over 20 years. I've sold over 2,300 homes in my career. Personally, that's not with a big, huge team. And I'll tell you having a rituals and routines is essential in the survival of every single real estate agent. Did you know that 87% of real estate agents after the first five years? They are out! A huge part of that is because they're not treating their business like a business.

The first thing that you need to do as a real estate agent is get up every day, get dressed, go to the office, or go to your place of work. Even if that's at home, your home office and get there at eight o'clock dress and ready to go. That should be the first part of your schedule. Okay. Now I can tell you what you should be doing once you start your day, but that's on a whole different article.

Rituals and Routines For Your Real Estate Business

I want to talk specifically about rituals and routines in a business in this post. I break my week apart. Every single week there's certain things that I do on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday on Monday. I research what's happening in the market. What's happening in neighborhoods? What's new, what's up and coming. I do research. I research what trends are happening in the market locally. What trends are happening in the market nationally?

Monday's are dedicated to client care and communication. So I am specifically calling clients, picking up the phone and talking to current clients and letting them know exactly what's happening in their business. What I do is everything that I researched on Monday, I put into play on Tuesday. For example, if I researched about an upcoming new development, or I researched about a new restaurant or a new thing in my area, I then will create content regarding what I research.

Create Video Scripts and Video Content

So I'll create video scripts and video content, and I will then record that content, or I'll go to the local restaurant, go to the local establishment and I'll do an interview with them, right? I'll go there and maybe eat the hamburger. If it's a new burger place and I'll do a cook fill video on, on the hamburger, I'm implementing everything that I learned from Tuesday. Also on Tuesday, Tuesday is the day for me to work on my business. How can I take things that are already existing and how can I make them better? How many of you ever seen in those real estate agents that say they are 25, but then they show up and they are actually 55. We want to constantly be updating everything about our business.

So it's a day too. And if I'm doing mailers, how can I enhance my mailers? If I'm on social media, which you absolutely should be. How do I update my social media content? How do I, you know, implement new innovations and new technologies into my business. That's also for Tuesdays, okay. Now Wednesday rolls around. Now. Wednesday's gonna be the day that anything that I learned on Monday and implement it on Tuesday. I'm now going to, if I recorded a video, I'm gonna get that video edited on Wednesday. Okay? Because Thursday, I'm gonna put that video out there to the world. So there's a whole strategy behind everything that I'm doing Monday and Thursday, client communication, right? Current and past communication. So Wednesdays now I'm getting that stuff out there on Wednesdays. I'm also deep diving into the things that I learned yesterday on Tuesday.

Become An Innovator

I learned, Hey, I'm taking, I'm learning all these new things in my business. I'm trying to innovate things. I'm trying to make things better. Now, how do I actually make sure that I now put the things that I learned into place? I do them on Wednesday. Now, Thursday rolls around Thursday is client communication and also past client communication. I'm now specifically reaching out to past clients, calling them up, doing video text messages. I'm also going onto social media sites, commenting on people.

All right. I did forget to say something. Every single day, I spend 15 minutes sending 10 video text messages to current clients, past clients, friends of friends, parents that I've met at my kids, school events or their sporting events. People I've met at chamber of commerce. People that I know on Facebook that are friends of friends on Facebook. And I'm just every single day, reaching out to them saying hello, giving them, you know, letting them know how interested I am, what they're doing.

If they had a certain life event anniversary, a birthday, something cool that happened to their kids or within their family. I recognize that through a video text message. I just say, hi, let 'em them know I'm thinking about them. And then I don't ask for business. I don't ask for referrals. I'm just reminding them. I do that every single day. Another part of my work week, I try to leave Fridays open for just kind of like putting everything together right now.

I understand there's a lot more things that come up every day in your business. But if you don't have specific things that you do every single day, right. Life gets away from you. Somebody else's crisis becomes yours. Things are always gonna come up. You have to absolutely absolutely have certain things that you do in your business all the time that are gonna lead for you to have success another morning routine.

Have A Daily Sheet

And also evening routine that I do is I do my daily sheet. In fact, I'll put a copy of my, a daily sheet in this video. So in the description, you can grab that. And I will tell you, this has been wildly successful. Every single thing that's on my daily sheet that I do is not there just because it's there because there's scientific research that shows that these things are important to do.

So for example, I write down five things that I'm grateful for the research based upon showing gratitude, you would not believe what at the research shows just about showing gratitude. When you show gratitude, when you focus on what you're appreciated for that effect in the brain actually lasts for two weeks, right? There are chemicals that are released in the brain when you show gratitude, when you're thankful for things. So every day I'm grateful for five things.

I write that down and I try to do things that are like happening within the past 24 hours. I don't always say it's my kids or my husband. Of course, I'm super, super thankful and grateful for them. I try to find very, very specific things, right?

So let me give you an example of being grateful. If it was something that I was grateful for for my husband, I would say I'm really grateful that today, before my husband left for racing, that he spent, you know, 45 seconds just holding and giving me a hug. I'm very specific about what for also I write out five things that I'm going to get done today. Now this is not a list. Checklists, in fact are not good for you because you never get rid of the checklist. These are time blocking, I'm time, blocking five things that I'm committed to doing throughout the day.

And I'm putting them in time increments and so I'm letting my brain know that I'm gonna work on these activities for a specific amount of time. The reason I don't put a checklist is because the checklist never ends, and there's damaging effects that happen to your brain. Other things that are on that daily sheet. As I visualize, I visualize my day, I visualize myself succeeding.

There's little neurotransmitters that are in our brains. And when you visualize the research shows that the brain does not know the difference between what you're seeing and what you're thinking. So I visualize myself succeeding. I visualize myself meeting clients, getting that listing sign and getting that buyer contract signed. Those are the kind of things that I visualize when I was just selling real estate. Another thing I like to do is at the end of the day, I like to celebrate my wins.

Accountability Calls Are Important

What gets celebrated gets replicated. I wanna focus on what activities that I did during the day that were successful. And you would not believe just how helpful it is just doing your daily sheet. One last thing every single day, I show up to a 15 minute accountability call. It's called skin of the game on this accountability call.

I should do a whole training on that and I will, but on accountability call, I just commit to two different things during the day that I'm gonna get done one business, one personal. And the idea is that no matter what, I absolutely get those things done. I incorporate those things into my business into my day. And I do not go to sleep until those activities are done. If you read the books like slight edge, atomic habits, tiny habits are different ones.

There are so much research that tell talks about just by doing little small things every single day before you know it, you've created massive results in your day. So if you wanna be successful in real estate, you've got to treat your business like a business. You've got to have rituals and routines. You've got to actually get up in the morning, get dressed, put your clothes on, put your makeup on and just make it happen.

Figure out what days that you wanna do. Certain things, make sure that no matter what you do, those things every single day, think about in your business. Like you have to always think about, okay, what can I do to be innovative? What can I do to stand out from other people? How can I improve my business and learn? How can I educate myself and show that I'm knowledgeable in a way that I can communicate that back to my clients?

Working On Your Business VS Working In Your Business

How can I work on my business and how can I work in my business? My suggestion to you is figure out what works for you. The way I just told you might not work for you, right? But you've gotta have some type of routine, some type of daily habits that you do. Um, otherwise you're gonna be like the 87%. We want you to be like the 13% that after five years you are still around.

So those are some of my daily rituals and routines that I've used over the years to be in the top 1% of realtor nationwide, and literally generate millions of dollars online. Hopefully you like Chris, I wanted something like really bigger, but that's it. So starting with the system, starting with the routine. So with the habits is what's gonna be your first step in generating a very wealthy long-term sustained real estate practice.
