How To Be A Successful Real Estate Agent?

Here are some tips to be a successful real estate agent. Be different. Be innovative in what you do. Remember, marketing is everything. Marketing will make or break your career as a real estate agent. Use Video as a marketing tool. Video as a marketing tool will boost up your engagement with your clients if you know how to distribute it properly.

Get a mentor that made it. Get a mentor that will help you be different from the rest of your competitors. Get a mentor that will help you use video as a marketing tool and will teach you how to distribute it properly. If you are a newbie in the industry then you need to read on.

You want to know what my first steps were when I started? It's been about 20 years, so honestly I don't remember exactly, but I'll tell you one thing, I definitely did work a lot. So there was plenty of times where it'd be Christmas Eve and a buyer or a seller would call and I'd go running out the door. Or it's Friday night and my friends are having cocktails, and I'm working with buyers and sellers. So it was a lot of that.

Be Different

But one of the things that I always tried to do is look for mentors who were doing really well in the business and see what they were doing and see how I could emulate them. I definitely looked for ways to do things a little bit better and more unique and just being a little bit different.

So to give you some examples, way back when, when I started, they had flyers that people would put on the homes. I don't do flyers. I do digital flyers. But people would put black and white flyers on the homes. So what I would do is I would put four page colored brochures on my sign. So I just always tried to be different.

When I got listings, I would then advertise those listings on TV. I would walk the neighborhood and pass out flyers and introduce myself and let the neighbors know about the new listing in the area. And I just tried to be different, as different and unique as I could.

Many years had gone by, and then I started using video content. So video is absolutely my number one way in both my real estate company and my coaching company that has helped propel me to have two multi-million dollar companies, all from the use of video, properly distributing that video, making sure it's actually getting seen by the masses in my community over and over again, because it positions me as the go-to expert.

Send It Into Overdrive

So even if you're a new agent or you're an agent who's somewhere in between, or you're an experienced agent that wants to really take your business from where it's at and excel it, and I say put it on steroids, start creating video content. Make sure you're properly distributing it so it gets seen, make sure you set up really good systems, have systems in place that you can handle more massive amounts of work, and find somebody that can help lead you and advise you.

There's so many real estate agents out there, there's so many companies out there, but so many companies, they don't really know how to lead and tell people how to really work in this new digital age. Right now, doing things like open houses and door knocking and cold calling, they just don't work anymore, because we can't even do them based upon the pandemic. So I highly advise you to learn how to position yourself online, how to use digital marketing and social media to really position yourself and to be seen in front of your community.
