7 TIPS To Make Social Media Content Quickly in 2021

Posted on November 19, 2021 by

One of the most common questions I get is how do I quickly and efficiently create social media content. So let me explain these 7 tips to help you pump out more social media content in a shorter amount of time.

Have A Strategy

First is having a strategy, by failing to prepare you're preparing to fail. We've all heard that before, and it doesn't change with social media content – you need a strategy and be able to post several times a week. Whatever you do, make sure you can do it all year long. Many people make the terrible mistake of saying they'll post every single day and after a week or two weeks they fall flat, die, run out of ideas, and they can't keep up.

What you need to do is make sure that you have a strategy you can stick to consistently. This means looking at TikTok, Instagram, Linkedin, Facebook or YouTube and figuring out what you can do consistently for all the platforms that are relevant to you.

Plan Ahead

The second thing is planning ahead. It's so hard to consistently think of new content to create and what to post on a daily basis. You need a content calendar, but it goes one step further: have a Content Calendar that maps out so you can use it easily. Make sure you know what you need to do every day with a blueprint or an execution strategy. For me, I block every morning from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., which is my social media time. Every single day, I do all my social media stuff in that one hour. Because what people don't do is put it in their calendar, and what's not in your calendar doesn't exist. When people get to the end of the day, they're burned out, they're exhausted, they're overwhelmed, and the last thing on their minds is what they should post.

Take it a step further and give yourself a deadline. It's not just about posting the content, it's about creating it, too. Make sure you have a deadline if you're doing YouTube videos, podcasts, or photo shoots. When you were in college or high school, you had deadlines and if you didn't meet them you failed. Being a business owner or entrepreneur means you're your own boss so if you miss that deadline, nothing happens and you keep delaying things. Setting your own deadlines is your responsibility. You'll keep yourself accountable that way, and you'll ensure you do have enough videos to post consistently. That will help you stay on top of your content strategy, and you'll stay accountable to yourself.

Keep An Idea Bank (Hit List)

Number three, keep an idea bank. You'll get rid of some of the stress of always having to come up with new fresh content. You can plan out your content for the next six months when you keep an idea bank. I have a Word document on my computer that shows me exactly what videos I should be posting for the next six months.

Now of course there are new topics that come up that you need to create content about to leverage new trends or a new technology that affects your business. But at least you're not running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to think of new ideas.

What do you do to come up with ideas? Here are a couple of examples if you're creating YouTube content. YouTube is one of the best places to find new stuff. In my industry, I look at some of my competitors or other people in my space, order their platforms, go to their channels, then filter by most viewed videos, and that will give you a resource for showing what has already been vetted by the market to be in demand. Their content get a lot of views, so if you put on something similar maybe with better tags, better titles, better descriptions, but a thumbnail.

Since they've already shown that they're engaging with that type of content, you can kind of steal some of their audience. You can also use Instagram. Share on your Instagram story what you're struggling with right now. How do you deal with your biggest limiting belief? How do you get what you want in 2021? You'll realize that your audience is going to tell you exactly what they want to know, and since they're already in your audience, and they already know and trust you, when you do put out that content, they'll engage with it. Also, people love to know that they're being listened to. If you post content that your audience is actually asking for, they are a lot more likely to engage with it, share it, stuff like that.

Another tip is to use things like Quora.com and keywords everywhere. The extension makes it so you can see exactly what people are searching for related to the topic when you type in a search phrase, like how to get in shape in 2020 if you're a fitness coach. You'll get a bunch of ideas of what people are searching for on Google that way.

So if you put out some content related to that with that search phrase in the YouTube title or in your content, then you're going to start ranking for it. Another good option is Quora, a question platform where people ask questions and then others answer. You get to see what people are asking, and you get to see some really good answers too. You just turn that written answer into a video and bang, you've got a great video topic that people are engaging with because they're already looking for it.

Repurpose Your Content

Focus on one piece of content and repurpose it so if you look at a lot of people that struggle with social media. Having to manage all these social media platforms that you have to be present on can get overwhelming very quickly when you need to post to Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn. But you have to repurpose your content and try to create a pillar piece of content, maybe a YouTube video, and then break it down into micro content, like Gary Vee does. You can create one piece of content and from there you can make 25 or more other bits of micro content that you can drip out over time.

Make Content Batches

Fifth is batching. I put all of my videos together on a Sunday afternoon. I block off four hours anafternoon.mmer them out. But why would you want to do that? It takes so much time away from income-producing activities for your business to do that one at a time. You're already set up, you've got your camera, you've got your lights, you've written down all your ideas, you've got everything ready. You can do everything in batches so that it's all done in one session and then you can drip it out over time.

Use Your Cellphone

Don't be afraid to use your portable marketing device, I mean your cell phone. You can make some of the best videos with your cellphone. According to many users, the iPhone 11 is as good as or better than most $1200 DSLR cameras.

If you're waiting for a meeting, you can create content while you're in the car. If you are out for a walk or waiting for an appointment, or if you are walking to a meeting. Turn your phone around and start making some content. There is no excuse not to! You have this device in your pocket that we statistically check 150 times a day, so start using it and start creating!

Listen To Your Audience

Listen to your audience. Once again, ask people what they want to see on your Instagram profiles, use your Instagram stories, use your Instagram feed, use your Facebook page. Listening to your audience is going to give you the ideas, it's going to give you the engagement, it's gonna build loyalty with your audience and it's gonna make it a lot easier to build trust with them.

So you want to build a community, a tribe, that follows you and helps build your movement. Finally, you need to make sure you're listening to them because that will give you a whole slew of great content ideas. Making it simple for yourself is the best approach.

However, you need to listen because your audience will know and trust you if they know you. They'll tell you what they want to see and they'll ask questions. All you need to do is answer those questions via video. Feel free to drop a comment below with your questions.
