So you want to be more popular on Instagram. Would you like thousands of people that actually see your picture and follow you? If you keep on watching to find out how to get Instagram followers that are actually real, you probably already heard of all the difficulties that people actually face when they try to interact with audiences or even gain some traction as a new account.
The problem is that most people are actually trying to make it all about themselves, about them. When in fact, you should focus more on connecting with people and seeing how you can actually help them out. Here are 11 things that most beginners do wrong when they try to gain more followers on Instagram.
1. Unreadable Username
Having an unreadable username and those funny characters in the end don't count. Nobody will ever find you because your username is too complicated.
So do yourself a favor. Keep it short, keep it sweet preferably under 10 characters.
2. Using A Watermark
Watermarks are okay if they are small, but don't use them in the middle of your picture. Nobody can actually see what's underneath it anymore.
3. Not Using Hashtags
Everyone sees the picture without hashtags, but nobody will notice yours among all those other pictures of hashtags. You should make yourself stand up by using as many hashtags as possible without spamming.
4. Having Only One Picture
Okay? So this is playing weird. People would rather actually follow somebody who has fewer followers than another. Who just started off with one picture. Come on now have at least three pictures, but you should have a lot more than that.
5. Interact With Others
If you only post your own pictures, people will get bored of them.
Eventually share with other people like their pictures and leave nice comments on them. This makes people actually happy and it could actually make friends with you this way.
6. Using Boring Pictures
You can follow all the rules perfectly, but if your pictures are not interesting in any way, nobody will ever want to actually look at you twice. Make sure they are good quality, not too big, though. Up close. So people can actually see the details personalized or original to increase engagement by tenfold.
7. Having An Ugly Profile Picture
Nobody wants to follow somebody who doesn't even take pride in having a decent looking profile picture, have one that actually stands out so we can actually recognize you have a picture of yourself. Don't use cartoons or logos, unless it is an icon.
8. Uploading Too Much Content At Once
People do not want to see all your pictures at one time, they might get sick of you. And they might like swipe left, triathlon, eating them every day or every other day, rather than in one big, huge burst.
9. Posting All The Same Things
If you're using Instagram for different purposes, example for business, for blogging, et cetera, try and mix the app. What you post. So people won't wish there was less of you on their newsfeeds.
10. Too Many Hashtags
Nobody wants to see more than two to three hashtags on your pictures. And if they do not fit the picture, think of something else or just don't use them at all.
11. Negative Comments
Some people will comment mean things under your pics, no matter how good they are. Don't take it personally and just ignore it. If you have made some of these mistakes mentioned above, as long as you are working to fix them, you might actually start seeing a positive change. In fact you will see a positive change in the number of likes and comments on your posts.
