Consistency and Perserverence

We are going to talk about consistency today.

One of the students that’s new in the program said, “How long does it take for this stuff to start working?” And it really brought us into this whole talk about consistency.

Then we had different students kind of chime in and tell what their thoughts were and it was the same conclusion with everyone. It takes a little bit of time, anything that you’re doing when you’re trying to make a change typically takes time. The more consistent that you are working towards that goal, and the more time that you put in it, eventually it just hits.

Most people that they don’t see results right away with any change they’re trying to make and so they stop. So they stop.

They go no this isn’t working. I’ve been doing it for a month and it’s not working. I’m not seeing the results. So they quit doing it.

Don’t be that person. If you are trying to make a change, if you are trying to generate new business, if you’re trying to change your mindset, if you’re trying to be a more positive person, and you don’t see results instantly, then don’t quit because you will eventually.

Good things take time to make changes happen. But the more persistent that you are, and the more consistent that you are in going towards that goal and making that change, I promise you you will get there. It just doesn’t happen overnight.

Unfortunately what happens with most people is they don’t see immediate change so they just stop.

So I’m going to encourage you not to do that. If you have a goal, you’re trying to get more listings or get more sales or get more deals or get more closings or attract more clients, you can do it.

You just can’t do it overnight. Nothing happens overnight. It takes time for things to happen. We always hear these things like oh they’re an overnight success story. That person got famous overnight. That famous got busy overnight. And they became the number one salesperson overnight.

I can tell you that nothing happens overnight. We don’t see what’s happening behind the scenes. We don’t see all the work they put in beforehand. We don’t see that. All we see is what we see right in front of us. So don’t look at someone else and think that they were so successful instantly. They worked their butt off to get there. Most likely they woke up earlier. They went to bed later. They took classes. They took trainings. They did so much stuff to get to that point.

That will be you too.

So my encouragement to you, my encouragement to myself, my encouragement to anyone participating would be that if you have a goal, if you’re working towards something, do not stop working towards it. Keep pushing forward. Keep moving. Keep going towards that target. Be persistent about it. Be as consistent as you can and eventually it will happen. It’ll happen.

My client today, I feel like with the program that we teach it takes about three months and so my students said you know Krista I think that really almost at months five is really when it goes crazy.

Then another guy’s like, “Hey I’ve been doing this for a week and I’m already seeing results.” But to hit the overall consensus for me is three months. My students say hey I think it’s around five. But what is they stopped at month four.

All of a sudden they wouldn’t have their crazy amount of business if you stopped at month four. Four months seems like a long time. It’s really not long at all if you look at your whole entire life. I’m 47 years old. Four months is nothing to me. But it seems like a long time when you’re in it. So the point being do not quit.

It didn’t happen the first day.

It takes time to get where you want to be.

And all of a sudden, bam. It just hits.

So don’t stop. Don’t give up. When you start feeling negative about whatever it is you’re trying to change that you’re not seeing immediate results on, take that thought out and replace it with something positive. Tell yourself this is working. I am doing well. This is working. This is working. Because if you focus on that you’re going to get that. So don’t stop, keep pushing. Move forward. Be consistent. Be persistent.

Your life will change. It just doesn’t happen in a day. Or in a week. Or in a month sometimes. Some of them might take a year, but you’re living anyways. You’re not all of a sudden not going to be here hopefully.

So keep on pushing towards that goal so you can get where you want to be. Let me give you a little personal story about myself.

My goal is to be the number one motivational speaker in the world. I want to impact lives. I want to help people. I want to change the world. I want to leave this place better than when I started it. I want to leave it better then when I got here. I want people to remember me as wow she really helped me. She inspired me. She was great. That’s what I want to do.

It’s been so much harder for me to get on stage and to reach people but I’m still not quitting. I’m not quitting as I started this journey two, three years ago. I’ve been really consistent over my goal for the past year. Yes, it’s been a year over a year. All of a sudden now I’m starting to be asked to speak on stages and to do things. They might be little stages at first.

One time I was asked to speak in front of my association of realtors. And then I was asked to speak yet another one. And now I’m going to Minneapolis to speak in front of 500 people. Then I’m going to Florida to speak in front of 2000 people.

But a year ago, I wasn’t in front of not one person. So my point is that I kept on pushing and pushing and I’m continuing to push because I want to impact people and inspire, to change lives, and to motivate.
